I have a clepto kitty!!

We have a new kitty that showed up about 2-3 months ago and he's become a part of our family. He's still an indoor/outdoor cat and pretty much comes in and out of the house as he pleases. Tonight I called him in and he's carrying something in his mouth. Here I'm thinking it's probably a squirrel tail (I've caught him "snacking" on a squirrel before) but no here it is almost 12am and he's bringing me a SOCK!! LOL

I've found other strange things in the yard recently like an ugly purple bath rug and I wasn't too sure where it came from but now I think I know who the culprit was.

Here's a picture of our clepto kitty, Oliver.

I've been crafty lately...

I've been sewing lately. I've made 3 cat blankets, 2 felt mousies, and one felt fish so far. We don't have central heating and usually don't turn on the heater unless it's REALLY cold and this year looks like it's gonna be a really cold winter so I decided to make the blankets for the kitties. I made 2 of them today and 1 yesterday and the all three blankets have been occupied since then LOL.

Here's a few pictures of Lauren, Salt , Shatner and Torrie ...

Like my new layout?

I just recently bought Paint Shop Pro X2 and designed this little turkey you see on my page. I know Halloween comes first but we don't celebrate it...even though it was one of my favorite holidays when I was younger.

I've had two other versions of this program and this is really the first time I've actually created clip-art with it. I usually use it to edit pictures (I'm an amateur photographer) but never really truly create anything like this with the previous version I had. PSP X2 is a great program!  I still have a ways to go before I'm actually good at making clip-art but I'm having fun learning!
I'm looking forward to the Fall and Winter. It's been too darn hot this summer.

So you may wonder what Fall is like in South Texas...it's pretty much like Summer only slightly cooler.Winter is slightly cooler than Fall. Ok, Ok,  we do have some cold days but nothing like you see up north.

One day I hope to live somewhere where the seasons are actually Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter instead of Warm, Hot, WAY too Hot, and Warm again. I love looking at pictures of leaves changing to Fall colors and hope one day I'll be the one taking the pictures.

Here's a great slideshow of Autumn leaves with a song by a great artist Nat King Cole called The Autumn Leaves. This was not made by me found I it on Youtube.

Comet Expected to be Naked-Eye Visible in October — San Antonio SkyWatch

I thought this was a neat thing to share...I hope it will be visible to the naked eye. It will be a great telescope object too.

What's your most favorite time of the year

Mine is fall and winter and BOY I'd give anything to live where its colder. It's almost midnight and it's 82° ...82°!!!! and humid to top it off. It feels like it's 86°. I wish we could move to even a place that is hot like this in the summer BUT has all 4 seasons. Our part of Texas surely doesn't. We have hot, REALLY hot, were so hot that hell might even be cooler right now AND... one day of winter :P Who knows maybe just maybe we will live in that cooler place...maybe one day.

It's been awhile since I updated my blog....

Let's see what has happened since the last time...
  • I turned 35!!!
  • I got in touch with my father's side of the family for the first time.
  • I met my cousin Dana, my father and one of my father's sisters for the first time.
  • I got rid of Sprint and switched to a Boost mobile account.
  • I joined the world of smart-phones and now own a Blackberry which I LOVE!!
Turning 35 this year was bittersweet...mostly sweet though. Like I said I got in contact with my father's side of the family. The first person I got the privilege to talk to was my cousin Dana. Dana is one of the sweetest most kind person's you could ever meet. She has a heart of gold and has accepted my into her life with open arms. I'm am SO blessed to know her and her sweet family. I know all of my other cousins are great but Dana will always hold a special place in my heart :)

  • I've talked to my father twice. Once in person and once on the phone. He's a very reserved guy but very nice. I look forward to getting to know him. He's had a lot of health issues over the past few months so if you are reading this please keep him in your prayers. He's feeling a lot better but still has some healing to do.

  • I also met one of my father's sisters. Linda is the baby of the family. She was very nice too.

  • My father has 8 brother's and sisters. Two of which have passed away. So my family went from two aunts and one uncle on my mom's side to 3 uncles (two which are no longer with us...one was just a baby when he died) and five aunts!! A grand total from both sides of 11 aunts and uncles!! Not to mention quite a few cousins. My family grew BIG TIME... :) It's a lot to take in but I am grateful to have each and everyone of my family members.

  • I've also chatted through Facebook with two other cousins both which seem very nice and I can't wait to get to know more about them too.

I finally got rid of Sprint even though it cost us a bit of money to get out of my contract but it was well worth it! We had 2000 anytime minutes and we were doing fine with it for awhile BUT me and Dana like to talk :) so we were going over our minutes...my husband like to talk too BTW the minutes were almost evenly split this last month...lol  Soooo It was time to shed Sprint.

We ended up going with Boost Mobile. The plan was 60 month for a blackberry plan with unlimited talk, text and data. A VERY good price and for my husband and me it was just a little bit more than what we were spending with our overage with Sprint AND I got a Blackberry which is a really cool device!

Now for the bitter part...I got a THICK grey hair on my head for my birthday! It got yanked! LOL Not fun :(

Ok no more novel writing! I hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day and don't forget where we get our freedom from. First from the Lord who sent his son to die for us and also from those who serve our military. Some who never return home to their families. May God bless each family who has lost a loved one in the military!

Found this on line and had to share it!

MARTHA STEWART VS ME!

Martha's way #1:
Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent
ice cream drips.

My way:
Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's
sake; you are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it
anyway.

*********

Martha's way #2:
To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the
potatoes.

My way:
Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix and keep it in the pantry for up to
a year.

**********

Martha's way #3:
When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the
dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside
of the cake.

My way:
Go to the bakery. They'll even decorate it for you.

*********

Martha's way #4:
If you accidentally over salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in
a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant "fix
me up."

My way:
If you over salt a dish while you are cooking, that's too darn bad.

My motto:
I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes.

*********

Martha's way #5:
Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it
will keep for weeks.

My way:
Celery? Never heard of the stuff.

**********

Martha's way #6:
Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a
beautiful glossy finish.

My way:
The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg
whites over the crust and so I don't do it.

*********

Martha's way #7:
Cure for headaches: Take a Lime, cut it in half and rub it on your
forehead. The throbbing will go away.

My way:
Martha, dear, the only reason this works is because you can't rub a
Lime on your forehead without getting lime juice in your eye, and then
the problem isn't the headache anymore, it is because you are now
BLIND!

*********

Martha's way #8:
Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for
future use in casseroles and sauces.

My way:
Leftover wine?

*********

Martha's way #9:
If you have a problem opening jars: Try using latex dishwashing
gloves. They give a non slip grip that makes opening jars easy.

My way:
Go ask the very cute neighbor guy next door to do it.

*********

Martha's way #10:
Potatoes will take food stains off your fingers. Just slice and rub
raw potato on the stains and rinse.

My way:
Mashed potatoes will now be replacing the antibacterial soap in the
handy dispenser next to my sink.
